In a recent court appearance in Las Vegas, Duane "Keffe D" Davis, a former gang leader, pleaded not guilty to the 1996 murder of rapper Tupac Shakur. The 60-year-old Davis had a lawyer appointed to represent him during the proceedings. Shakur was fatally shot in a drive-by attack in Las Vegas at the age of 25. According to the police, Davis was charged in September after they alleged that he had planned the shooting with his nephew, following a fight between Davis and Shakur in a casino. The police shared hotel security footage from September 7, 1996, during a news conference, where a group of men, identified as Orlando Anderson, Davis' late nephew, were seen assaulting a man. The police stated that this incident led to the retaliatory shooting, targeting Shakur as he waited in his car at a red light. Shakur passed away six days later in the hospital. The authorities also mentioned that Davis obtained the gun from an unnamed associate and referred to his "own admissions" to media outlets that he was present in the vehicle from which the shots were fired. All three men who were in the car with Davis at the time of the shooting, including his nephew, have since died. It remains unclear who actually fired the fatal shots. Tupac Shakur, known by his stage name 2Pac, is widely recognized as one of the greatest artists in hip hop. With more than 75 million records sold worldwide, he achieved chart success with hit songs like "California Love," "All Eyez On Me," and "Changes." In June, Shakur was posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
